Our thriller opening

The idea we have selected for our thriller is a bicycle chase and torture sequence. We will keep cross cutting between the bike chase and the torture scene to create a fast paced action thriller opening. To help with the theme of the fast paced opening we have chosen a piece of music to suit the action of the bike chase. We have used Brianstorm by Arctic Monkeys. In the bicycle chase the music is loud and in the torture scene we have the sound of a heartbeat in the background, this creates tension.

There were some problems we encountered when we were filming one of which was that when we filmed in the woods there were often people and dogs walking around in the background. This meant we had to do some shots a few times before we got them correct. Another problem was that we only had three people there and we perhaps needed a couple more. This would have made filming a lot easier. With three people we were not able to do panning shots as we needed all three of us in the shot. If we had four people we would have had somebody to hold the camera. When we were filming at the house for the torture scene it was very bright outside so lighting affected some of our shots. Another problem was that we were not able to get to our prefered location of Swineshead as there was no form of transport to get us there on the day we needed.

Despite the problems we encountered there were many things that went well. One major factor was that on both days of filming at both locations the weather remained dry and didnt rain. Another thing we did well was that both locations of filming exceeded our expectations. The abandoned house was the perfect location for filming the torture scene. We also got every shot that we wanted.
